The device is based on a machine learning algorithm which gets set after the first week of user operation by saving a set of user data. The thermostat can then learn people's schedule such as time of certain temperature, humidity levels etc. Using its built-in sensors and phone's location, it can shift into an energy-saving mode when it senses nobody in the room.
